ActNow Theatre Accomplices

Empowering marginalised communities to create, together

Through support of our Community Workshops, ActNow Theatre’s Accomplices enable historically marginalised artists and communities to connect in a safe space, exchange skills, develop professional networks and pathways, and grow together through their shared passion for the arts - at no cost to participants.

Our Community Workshops have historically been reliant on unstable project funding, threatening the accessibility and sustainability of the program.

With your support, we can continue to present a diverse array of exceptional workshops and ensure that these opportunities remain accessible, safe, and free for marginalised artists and communities.

In the words of our Community Members

“The free workshops have been amazing for building community relationships and skill building. Act Now Metamorphosis genuinely changed my life! I met so many new friends and built so many industry connections!- Community Workshop Participant

“Programs like this are really important because they help create a sense of community. I love the Actnow workshop because it allows me to fully immerse myself in creative activities and forget about the stress of my work and other responsibilities. It's a time when I can explore my creativity without feeling self-conscious. I see it as a ritual that brings my creative spirit to life.” - Community Workshop participant

“Because of systems of oppression lots of people like myself existing in intersectionality don't get opportunities others do, and this [program] tries to balance the scales... People need to upskill, form community, network, and grow together. We live in a multicultural society but almost all programs don't reflect this in the arts” - Community Workshop Participant

“it takes you out of your comfort zone, it builds community connections and gives you the impression we all have the ability to express ourselves and learn from others.” - Community Workshop participant
